Anyone who has been political before being political was cool
knows that for all the current climate of political fever,
voters are still not getting a lot of bang for their buck.
We're all excited, standing in line and donating like crazy,
but when our chosen one goes up on the mountaintop they too
often come back empty-handed.
So how do we bring a level of accountability to the political
system that guarantees that your participation will be rewarded?
The answer has been brought to you by President George Bush.
After eight years of the Bush regime I am inclined to speak
out in admiration for the Fellow.
He may not be the most popular man, but you can't say he's
ineffective.
In fact, he's one President that gets things done, whether
you like what he's doing or not. From day one he's been
handing out the orders and doing it his way.
Now that's presidential.
In the spirit of learning something from every situation, I
believe we all deserve a little presidential treatment.
Under President Bush we learned that presidents, vice
presidents, appointees of presidents, and anyone affiliated
with the president can pick and choose which laws they want
to follow.
Pick and Choose you say?
Yes, Pick and Choose.
So how would Pick and Choose politics work for the average
hardworking citizen willing to vote?
Pick and Choose would be a legislative movement that would
guarantee the true principles of one man(woman)/one vote.
For instance, under Pick and Choose Legislative Bill 359:
Anyone who votes for a politician who supports or starts
a war will immediately be drafted into the military and be
required to serve a tour of duty. Gone will be the days of
sending other people's children to war for what you believe
in. You and yours will be enlisted and put in military
rotation for as long as the war lasts, or until your chosen
rep leaves office.
Under Pick and Choose Legislative Bill 987b: Anyone who
votes for a person who raises or reduces taxes are the only
ones required to submit to or abstain from contributing to that
taxation. That's right, you vote for some one who raises taxes
and you will personally be required to fund that little bill.
Deducted from your check each week will be the amount you
personally owe. This one goes out to all those six figure
individuals who believe they would choose to bypass their tax
cuts if they could.
Under Pick and Choose Legislative Bill 6359: Anyone who
votes for a bill they can not immediately pay for will
have that bill personally funded by the people who put such
a person in office.
Gone will be the bills like the prescription health care scam-
I mean plan- for seniors, that was passed with no possible
plan put forth to pay for it and where drugs companies
immediately raised the prices of drugs covered under the plan.
The crowning achievement of Pick and Choose politics would
be simple, your votes makes you aware of the true impact of
your decisions. No more casting a ballot, and blindly
trusting that "they" will do the right thing. "They" will
be you and you and you will be responsible for the results.
It's easy enough to publicly list the contents of a bill
going up for vote. This process simplifies the whole mystery
of how things get done, and by whom, because if your
representative knows that with a few clicks you can find out
what's going on, they'll be more careful about how they handle
themselves and you.
Gone will be the days of bloated bills ghostwritten by
lobbyist and pushed forward by people who have no idea what
they're really voting for.
Gone will be the days of low voter turn out, because if you
don't show up at the polls, you will be subjected to the
new tax, the next draft, the new expensive, unpaid bill.
Finally, aren't you tired of seeing those nightly news
reports about companies pimping our government? From ships
built for the Coast Guard that aren't seaworthy to Halliburton
losing one billion dollars in Iraq, I mean that's our money,
gone with the wind.
But wait...since that is our money...
The last and final accomplishment of Pick and Choose
politics would be if you owe the government.
Anyone who takes a government contract and blows the money,
or fails to produce what was ordered, will be dealt with in
the same manner as someone who owes the IRS.
A company cheats, loses, squanders, misappropriates,
mishandles, or any way disrespects the power of the American
tax payer and they will be fined, penalized, and hit with
back payments including interest and penalties. Any company
found guilty of such behavior will be barred from any and
all future government contracts for the rest of the owner or
owners natural life.
The new saying will become: Don't mess with the American
people; they'll get you.

hello Totally Pristine,
love your 5 Dollar health care solution - I have one of my own maybe we should put the two together, here is my solution.
The News is a buzz with the new health care program that President Obama likes to implement, you may agree with health care change or not – one thing is for sure – we need reform. Health care costs are thru the roof and we need to curb the cost. It has been found that 80% of the increase in cost is in the last quarter of life, between nursing homes, ICU’s and extending Hospital stays, the cost is exorbitant.
That is why the myLife-myWill service is most valuable to the individual person – we need to take matters into our own hands and decide which care, how much and under what circumstances we want to be kept a life and cared for. It is our life and each individual person needs to put end of life and emergency decision onto paper and keep it in an accessible place. Now in the past people would keep their testament and insurance papers in their desk or a safe deposit box or with their lawyers. But today the every day person most often makes no provisions. And hospital and care givers are bound by law to give everyone the most care that is available to prolong their life. And that is good if you want that – but just think – you cannot move- you cannot think – you cannot feel – you vegetate until your body just gives out – and that can take a long time. Your loved ones and in some cases government is paying for this – with money and emotions. Most people do not want that kind of end of life. But they have not prepared a Living Will or created an advanced directive of their wishes, or it cannot be found in time. That is why myLife-myWill is so valuable for every one, for just pennies per day you can set down your wishes – wear a bracelet that identifies you to be a member and holds your emergency data that can be accessed by any EMT or emergency room, it holds your DNR. Even if you want everything possible done to keep you going, you should voice it with your myLife-myWill flash drive wristband. Do not let government dictate how long you should live and under what circumstances care should be removed. The name says it all – myLife-myWill!
Government needs to reduce health care cost and you bet this will be one way that they will try to do it. Be prepared. Do not let insurance companies or government interfere with your wishes – a notarized and witnessed advanced directive that is easily accessible and easy to prepare is a must for every person – that is the only way that you can ensure that you are in control at the end of your life and not be a pawn in the “getting more out of the body” that many power players are playing.
